this has been the year for rooms for me. i started college in august, so i had to move out of my beloved bedroom, which i had named “the batcave,” and into a dorm. then my sister decided she wanted to switch bedrooms with me at our house because mine is a bit bigger. taking the batcave apart was an emotional time for me, it had become some sort of scrapbook of my life. anyway, under the cut i have included photos of the batcave, my dorm, and my new room.

a bit of background about this room: the walls are pink. i pretty much ruined them though, everything you see on the walls were stapled or tacked on. sometimes duct taped. i don’t know what i was thinking. it was sort of a “there’s no going back now” type of thing. oh well, my sister has to deal with that now, so hah.

the stop sign was always the most famous part of my room. it’s not actually a stop sign, i got it from a retired crossing guard. but you know.
this was taken a few weeks after i got rid of a huge dresser that covered the entire wall, that’s why it looks so bare compared to the rest of the room.

a little background about this room: it used to be my sisters. two walls are orange, two are pink. the black paint is chalkboard paint, and it’s also magnetic. very cool.
my desk is in the closet. i’m not the biggest fan, but it’s not movable, so i didn’t have a choice.
the black part of the wall is magnetic, which is awesome though.
this is a chalkboard. my sister wrote all over it in “washable pens” and i can’t friggin’ get it to come off, even though she swears it does. i’m going to keep trying, i want to write on it!

because the closet has my desk in it, i set up this nook behind my door. it’s ugly, but functional.

i have pink hair and the dye comes off on my pillow cases, so i get a new one every month or so. this month it’s the little mermaid. and that gray thing is a manatee.
i got this phone for free a few years ago. i had to rewire it, but it was pretty easy to do. i love it!
i have a blacklight in my room (courtesy of my sister), and my pink hair glows orange! very fun.
all and all, my new room is pretty okay. not as awesome as the batcave, but acceptable : )
