A bright yellow room!

A bright yellow room!

Hi! I’m Naomi, I’m twenty-one, from Sydney, Australia, and an aspiring astronomer. I also like bright colours. (Very) long time lurker (as in, a few years? Oops XD), first time poster. Yay, finally! Most of the stuff I love is, by no fault or choice of my own, reasonably obscure (apparently!). Aside from Doctor Who and the prerequisite Harry Potter books, of course!

Forty-three images. I don’t think I need to say that it’s IMAGE HEAVY…

A bright yellow room!
Won’t you come in?

A bright yellow room!
Behold! My room. (From the door.)

A bright yellow room!
Looking back at the door. Glass House t-shirts, bags, jacket.

A bright yellow room!
On the wall – planets, antique map calander. And a bit of shelf.

A bright yellow room!
More planets, more shelf, CD tower.

A bright yellow room!
Shelves!

A bright yellow room!
Trinkets (includes origami elephant that a comedian made for me, and pewter Turlough), cassettes, and Star Wars and DAAS videos.

A bright yellow room!
CDs (the rest are in the tower), matryoshka doll my sister got in Russia, DVDs.

A bright yellow room!
Replica sunface my Mum got in Mexico, DAAS record.

A bright yellow room!
Under the shelves. Mirrors, foil butterfly from Mardi Gras in, like, 2005, candles, incense holder, steam engine.

A bright yellow room!
Books! Plus, incense. Missing copy of Good Omens.

A bright yellow room!
More books! Harry Potter.

A bright yellow room!
Yet more books! Science.

A bright yellow room!
Even more books! Comedy!

A bright yellow room!
Holy crap, more books! Doctor Who.

A bright yellow room!
Finally, an end to the books!

A bright yellow room!
The disorganised corner. Bag, folders, shoes, jacket, laundry basket.

A bright yellow room!
Home is where you hang your Christmas hat….On your Dalek. Yes, that’s an inflatable Dalek. Also: guess my favourite writer!

A bright yellow room!
The Glass House cakehat, my grandfather’s old microscope, and a box with medicines, my phone charger, and annoying little things like safety pins.

A bright yellow room!
I… have a thing for maps. A lot. Also, lei from my Mum’s cruise.

A bright yellow room!
Moving on!

A bright yellow room!
Well, that worked out well.

A bright yellow room!
On top of the drawers.

A bright yellow room!
Daily use stuff. Also – talavera sun mask that my Mum also bought in Mexico.

A bright yellow room!
Trinkets! Includes two stone rings (red jaspar and hematite), some hematite, a tektite, a blue rock thing, and some pressed pennies from my trip to the US – Tomorrowland, the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens, and the Exploratarium in San Francisco.

A bright yellow room!
Magazines, and the pile of libary books of DOOM. The magazines are almost entirely New Scientist, except for the red star one – that has back issues of the Chaser, and maps that aren’t up in my room.

A bright yellow room!
Mirror, clock, top of nebula poster.

A bright yellow room!
IT’S LOOKING AT YOU.

A bright yellow room!
Desk! Under the bed.

A bright yellow room!
Other side of the under-bed area. That trunk is SO USEFUL.

A bright yellow room!
What I look at every day.

A bright yellow room!
Maps meet astronomy – it’s Venus! Also: 806.4616.0110 – you are here.

A bright yellow room!
Stationary. And my other Martha.

A bright yellow room!
WHITEBOARD O’ DOOM. I have a crapload of stuff on it – a postcard/ticket stub from the cable cars at San Fran, a piece of silver stuff from the last ever Glass House, Daffodil Day pin, playing cards from Sideshow, Sold Out thingo from a Melbourne Comedy Festival, stamps, and dubloons, also from Sideshow. Plus, ID card things from Gallifrey One.

A bright yellow room!
This picspam has been brought to you by… a Threatening Bear. Grr. (Vote Saxon!)

A bright yellow room!
They have articles and stuff in them – who needs scrapbooks when you have scrapBOXES?

A bright yellow room!
Timetable for class, tourist map of San Fran, more ID thingies, a Vote Saxon lanyard, and postcards, also from Gally.

A bright yellow room!
Up on to bed! The Moon, Mars, and Martha!bear.

A bright yellow room!
Star charts. Circa 1972.

A bright yellow room!
Looking across from the top of my bed.

A bright yellow room!
From my bed.

A bright yellow room!
Onwards!

A bright yellow room!
In lieu of a real window – a skywindow! Yes, it opens.

That’s all!

I just realised – in not one photo can you see my world map (it’s over the drawers). It’s from 1957. It’s fabulous! Most of the maps are from the fifties to the seventies, and were originally collected by my uncle.
