A community rule question

Since my comment was deleted, I'll just post instead. I looked over the community rules and didn't see anything about "spam" related to referrals that make money for others. Since the free iPod thing is prohibited in this community, wouldn't money-making referrals also be prohibited? I'd appreciate a clarification. If this community is going to turn into nothing but referral posts, I'm probably in the wrong place.
