A Day in Many Gardens
(Cross Posted) I thought it would be interesting to compare notes on gardens from many zones. So, what did you do in the garden today? Today I... ...weeded, a lot. Why can't I tell that I weeded a lot? Where do all of these darned weeds come from? ...re-did some of my pots. Created a new cactus dish garden. Got thorns. ...divided out some of the gingers that I had potted, and planted the divisions in the yard. Go Indonisian wax ginger, go tahitian ginger! ...worked in more mulch and cow-poo. ...pruned the lake view jasmine, key lime (And cut off the one branch with a key lime!), and both Snow on The Mountains. Pruning is the garden job that I'm least confident about, but it came out well. ...harvested my first key lime! ...planted the orange geiger that I got last summer. ...enjoyed my first saturn peach bloom. ...watched the birds. ...watched the cats watching the birds. Eeek! Flee, birds! ...bribed Bug to plant some fairy lilly bulbs. ...weeded more. It's a Florida Bettony invasion, I swear! ...planted my sunshine mimosa. And loved the fact that it's cool and wet, with more rain to come, and that these new plants will be well established.
