A few quick questions

A few quick questions

I have a few garden questions. The first concerns my Bush Morning Glory (aka Tree Morning Glory.) Both plants have little black ants all over them. I know that this would usually indicate scale or aphids, but I have gone over the plants numerous times and found neither scale nor aphids. Yet the ants are still climbing all over these plants. Ideas? Should I even worry? The next issue is with my basil- I have three basil plants growing together in a big pot. They have sun for most of the day. They occasionally get black spots on the leaves, which isn't a big problem, but I am worried because the leaves are a very pale, lime-green, instead of the dark leafy green one usually sees in basil. What is wrong? OK, last thing: today I was inspecting my plumeria plants (they had scale last fall so I keep a close eye on them now) and on the larger plant I found a bunch of things that looked like leeches. They were tiny, threadlike things, hanging off of the bottom of the leaves. When I squished them, they were full of fluid. What the hell are those things and what are they doing to my plant?
