A part broke off the dendrobium..

A part broke off the dendrobium..

Eek! I just noticed that one of the small pillars or branches or whatever on my Dendrobium has been cut off..!! It's perfectly green and healthy.. so far. Apparently it only *looked like* it was all part of the stem, but it had been handled roughly and it broke.. ..um. I hope that makes some sense to you. Any chance of saving it?? I read about how to propagate dendrobiums and they speak about cutting above nodes, but this is a small branch, and, heck, none of the plant's branches appear to have any nodes. It's a small variety.. I don't suppose just sticking it into a pot will give me a new plant? :p Ack, I need to find that powder ya'll talk about, the one that helps plants grow. *sigh* I have no idea how to save this little thing.. it's about 4 cm and has 4 healthy leaves.
