I just thought I'd share, my Desert Rose is blooming like mad! And it has about another dozen buds that haven't even opened! It's about time for a repotting too. Sorry about the crap quality of picture, I took it just now and it's dark. I'll get a daylight shot tomorrow. I have a small balcony so I don't have many plants. This is by far my most exotic, and favorite. But shhhhh, don't tell that to the other plants. I addition to this I have a 3 ft. tall tricolor Dragon Tree, an ill-tempered Dragonwing Begonia, a Wandering Jew, a new Rosemary that I want to bush out and an Italian Basil I need to harvest and cut back because it's growing like a damn weed. The Dragon Tree was actually rescued off the side of the road, someone had dumped it because it was dying of over watering. I took it home and repotted it, and it's the only plant out of 30 I used to have that survived being shut inside with no water for 30 days during hurricane Katrina and my eventual evacuation. I like plants that can look after themselves. Some websites say that the adenium obesum is finicky like an orchid, I've found it really flourishes when best left to its own devices. I let it dry out fairly thoroughly before lightly watering it again and it's clearly enjoying that. I live in Austin, TX - Zone 8b.
