does anyone have any good recommendations for private health coverage for a person with numerous pre-existing conditions that would have to be covered, and as soon as possible ?
a couple of weeks ago i re-injured my knee (not sure how, stepped and turned it wrong maybe) after having torn the acl a couple of years ago. i’m without insurance still so i did not go to the doctor or hospital this time, as it didn’t really seem to be that bad of an injury and the last time when it was *really* bad- i was taken to the emergency room and they basically sent me out with a brace and crutches and said “take it easy” and see a specialist (which i didn’t do because of lack of money and lack of insurance). the swelling has gone down a lot now unless i have been moving around, but it feels as if there is a sharp fragment of something (maybe bone?) just under the front of my knee cap keeping me from being able to straighten it all the way… and pretty much making me instantly almost fall to the floor anytime i accidentally do straighten it. unfortunately, according to my internet research, it seems that this is a very likely possibility.
which means i need doctors, x-rays, mri, and probably surgery… soon. :( so far, most of the insurance i can find either doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions at all, or it does and you have to wait 6 mo to a year, or it’s insanely too expensive for me.
anyone have any good experiences or suggestions to share?
