Airline Tickets- When to Buy?

Airline Tickets- When to Buy?

I'm trying to fly from either Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio to Denver, Co from September 10-sept 17th. I've been tracking flights on kayak.com and farecast for the past week. I was waiting for my credit card payment to go through to buy the ticket. Untill last night it was 278 to fly direct from Cincinnati to Denver and around 300 to fly columbus to denver. Now its over 500 to fly direct from cincy to denver and 290 to fly columbus to denver. According to farecast both prices will be raising. Do I just buy a ticket from columbus to denver or do you think prices will fall again? I'm afraid if I wait any longer the prices will continue to go up and I wont be able to afford it but I dont want to shell out 300 and spend 7 hours flying if I can get a direct flight for 300 from cincy to denver. Any advice would be most hopeful, I'm not a frequent flyer.
