I am in need of 2 things. A new cell phone and a new Palm Pilot. Up until now I have always bought them seperate because my dear husband had an all in one at one point, dropped it when he got mad and broke the display and lost both features. I am more careful than that.
Reasons for the purchase are
Cell Phone: I drop my phone regularly when my hands cramp up from my carple tunnel. Its very tiny and while there is nothing wrong with the actual phone, I cant hold onto it for very long, dial a number without issue or use any of the functions. We had been discussing replacing it for a year now, I use the speakerphone as much as I can or the walkie talkie feature, but that is not always acceptable to where I am. I also do not need the camera phone feature because I always have my digital camera in my purse, as I am more anal about having that over the phone.
The Palm: I have outgrown mine. Its a great palm and will be passed down to my husband but I need to upgrade to a larger one with more built in memory or the ability to add larger memory with cards. I use my palm daily to track so many things from my sons feeding/medication schedules to his supply lists, contacts and Drs numbers and it also has the schedule for a house with 6 kids. I also track my husbands glucose levels for Drs visits since it easily prints out for the Dr at any time. I could not imagine life without it and since I can not hold a pen for any length of time, being able to type it in would be much better for me vs using a stylus. ( I use my finger tip more than the stylus at this point for that reason).
So does anyone have any input on getting something like the Palm Treo or a Blackberry? My concern is not about money spent as long as its going for a product I can use like I do the 2 seperate ones right now. I also need it to be one I will not outgrow for a while. I have had the Palm on me for over 2 years and as I said it still works, it will just be passed down to my husband and his will go to my mother or maybe my son who is in HS now. I was leaning to the Blackberry but I read someone who said its more for email use, and while that is wonderful to have, its not the main feature needed for me. Should I just upgrade my phone which would cost less and puchase an upgraded Palm or go with the treo which would do both as well but has a nice picetag??
I really do want feedback on this and opinons because I have been wanting to do this for months and have funds set aside but still have no clue which path to take?? I do not want to waste money on either or buy a combined one and not have anything to show for it in the end.
