got some good news yesterday. “the company that will not be named” is making some changes to the insurance situation. all births in 2007 will be given $1300 towards the payment (i dont know if there are any other situations also being covered, this is just the one that applies to us) and they are going to extend the $1000 payment to the health savings account for 2008 as well. when jeremy asked when this first went down, he got the impression it was going to be a one-time-only “payoff.” and today “the company” is bringing in outside caterers for lunch and on tuesday the CEO is coming to talk about all the changes. can someone say “damage control?” good. i hope they’re scared.
this is simply a band-aid, but it gives us a bit more wiggle room and jeremy wont need to rush out and find another job/ insurance for the time being. im not going to worry a bout medicaid at this time and i may have a good job opportunity lined up soon.

edit: i asked and all employees with “pre-existing conditions” are being given the balance to cover the new higher deductible. so no parent-only special treatment.
