Auto Insurance Question…

Auto Insurance Question…

Well, my husband and I are set to switch auto insurance policies on the 16th of September, AutoPay and such is already set up, and it will be about $60 lower per month than our current company (and we really kind of had to jump through hoops to get this rate). However, today my husband and I got into a very minor accident. Technically it was our fault, however no one was ticketed. I will not be going through our insurance, we already had an estimate of the damage, and it is less than $500 (a new bumper) and our deductible is $500 anyways. However, I believe the other person will be going through our insurance (boy, I wish NY was a no fault state!). However, their damage is very minimal as well (a dent in their side fender). My question is how will this adversely affect our new policy that is supposed to go into effect on the 16th? Should we just tell them? Wait for it to show up on our driving record? Thanks in advance!
