Has anyone got any tales of gardens they have seen that have made you, well, raise an eyebrow? I am currently watching one of my neighbours gardens with interest. I'm not saying its 'bad' per se, but the planting is not exactly what I would have recommended. They have plonked two rhododendron directly below a bottom floor window, and a whole row of leylandii around 15 feet away from the house. In between the two are three spiky monstrosties that seem to just be there for the heck of it, in the middle of the lawn. Aound the corner they have planted a variegated box elder no more than 10 feet away from their house. To be honest, its just nice to have a neghbour who is doing anything with their garden at all. Being a new development everyone has just turfed everything and its very bland. However, I do wonder if these particular neighbours have realised that plants do, in fact, grow. I can only hope they enjoy pruning.
