Banfield Wellness Plans
I adopted an 8 year old mini poodle. He is a great little guy, and we had our first visit to the Banfield Vet Hospital today. It was located in my local Petsmart, and because it was clinic day, the whole check-up was $4.80 plus tax!! Fantastic compared to the $125 per check up I paid at another vet! That being say, he needs to have a tooth removed. It is awful, painful, completely rotted, and his mouth smells disgusting. The extraction is $80 plus $250 for a dental cleaning, anesthetic, catheter, etc. They also gave me information about their Optimum Wellness plans. He would need $465.40 plan, but it could cover the dental/etc and the extraction would only be $68. He'll need annual vaccinations in September 2009. Looking at the list below, do you think it would be worth it for me to get the plan, or to just pay for the $330? Here is what else comes with the plan (all included in the $465.40) Annual Vaccinations; Two Comprehensive Physical Exams (otoscopic, dental, rectal and ophthalmic exams, neurologic, cardiovascular, pulmonary and urogential evalutations, abdominal palpation, weight assesment); Swab and Microscopic Exam (1st Plan-year only); Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia Test (Yearly); Two Intestinal Parasite Fecal Exams (yearly); Two Roundworm and Hookworm Dewormings (yearly); Vaccine Warranty; Free Office Calls during regular hours; Free Interstate Health Certificates; Blood cell count; Differential exam of blood cells, and Internal organ function screen (Includes liver screen, kidney screen, pancreatic screen cholesterol screen, diabetes screen); Dentistry, prophylaxis and cleaning annually; Free Additional blood work; General anaesthesia for dental; Hospitalization for dental; Urinalysis; and Urine sediment exam. Thank you!
