Bar help!

I’ve been in my lovely, completely unfurnished apartment for a half month now, and I am still entirely in love. I don’t have the money to go out and buy everything we need/want (that’s a very thin line) all at once, so I’ve been trying to go space by space.

Anyhow, I love to entertain – and we have this wonderful little nook in the living room that faces into the kitchen.

I’d like to make into a home bar – but I could use some advice! The counter space is too shallow to put typical bar shelving up, but I was thinking about spacing a few shelves on the left hand side to hold our liquor. The stools are not permanent – we just needed some kind of immediate seating. I can’t paint the walls (I’d have to paint them back, too much $$ and work) but I can make holes. Any sources for cheap bar paraphernalia?
Any general thoughts or advice? Pictures/inspiration welcome!
