Best things to do in NJ?
My friend and I had been planning a trip to Denver for quite some time. Due to unforseen financial issues (she bought a car that turned out to be a lemon, and is still fighting the dealer), that trip fell through and we are now going to NJ, instead (closer, doesn't involve $500 plane tickets). The thing is, the plans JUST changed, and now we are trying to figure out what we want to do in NJ... so I am looking for awesome suggestions. We do have some money to play with, but we'd like to keep the costs down as much as possible, with maybe a few splurges on really fun things. So far, we are definitely going to the beach and Six Flags, and we'll probably go to NYC for a day. But since we'll be in the area for 6 days, what else do you suggest? I have AAA, so I know I can get discounts on some things, and my friend has a military discount. We are most likely staying in central NJ, and will have access to a car. We may or may not make a trip down to Atlantic City (neither of us are big gamblers, but there's the boardwalk). We will also be there for the 4th of July, and were wondering what the best spot for fireworks would be. Any tips?
