Best time to start growing indoors for spring in zone 6

Best time to start growing indoors for spring in zone 6

I live in Clarkston Michigan which is in zone 6 and I was wondering when would the best time be to start my seeds so that by the time they are ready to be transplanted I can plant them outside and the chances of frost will be one to zero? I got the seeds from a local garden store and am also going to order from a few seed catalogs that sell open pollinated and organic seeds to see what the difference in growing and taste would be. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks
