Bring your own teabag! (BYOT)

Bring your own teabag! (BYOT)

I go to Borders for cheap, good fun. I plop myself down in the cafe and read all the magazines I would never buy for full price. Often I gasp at the prices charged for coffee and tea. I had a plan in mind. I placed in my purse two peppermint teabags. I asked the cashier "How much for a cup of hot water?". She replied "Free". Now I'm not sure if all bookshop cafes would perform such courtesy but it never hurts to ask. Who wants to pay nearly two dollars for a 20 ounce tea when your cupboard is full of teabags which cost pennies on the dollar. I do admit, I did blow it and ended up ordering a stuffed pretzel! Oh well, at least I made some type of attempt. There was also a jug of ice water out in the cafe for anyone who wanted a glass.
