I know very little about gardening, but I was hoping to start growing some buckwheat. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten, and I've grown to love the taste of buckwheat flour! From what I've googled, it seems to be very easy to grow, and I know tons of it grows wild locally here in Los Angeles. What I'm more specifically interested in is if anyone knows which types are higher quality and taste better, and ideally even where I could buy them. I was thinking of just going out to hike and taking some seeds home with me, but I'm not sure exactly how edible/tasty the variety that grows wild here is. Anyone have experience growing buckwheat?
