Bugs in my rudebekia

Bugs in my rudebekia

Can anyone help me identify the little critters taking up residency in my rudebekia Goldstrum flowers? I first noticed them because some of the petals were pulled back across the center of the bloom and 'stuck' there. When I peeled the petals back, I noticed a sticky, cobweb-like substance and a little caterpillar-type worm, about 1/2 inch in length, boring into the center. I don't know how to post a picture and I am not sure I could get one close enough if I tried. I cut off all the blooms that seemed to be affected, the ones that had petals criss-crossed back. Otherwise the plant looks really well, but I am afraid of a potential problem getting out of hand. Thanks!!!
PS: Just one of my three plants, so far, appears to be affected.
