bulb food?

bulb food?

Ok, I'm in Zone 9, so that limits the bulb I can plant, but I've ordered a bunch of "warm weather" bulbs that should arriv ein about 2 weeks, even though many I won't be planting for months. Some though, I need to get in the ground ASAP, like frittilary. So, my question, should I buy expensive bulb food to put under the corms/bulbs, or would a regular 5/5/5 fertilizer be ok? Or should I just not add anything to the hole, as long as the soil is a bit loose (maybe add some sand?), and I plant at the right depth? I'm very new to bulbs, so I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks!
