Burnt Smell

Burnt Smell

I'm not sure if this is appropriate for this community, but I wasn't sure where else to ask. I recently bought a very lovely skirt, and just finished washing it. The problem is that it has a very distinctive burnt smell, but the clothes that I washed it with smelled fine and the skirt smelled fine before I washed it as well. I line dried this skirt and have not even worn it out yet. The smell is very strong, but I don't want to have to get rid of this skirt because of this. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to help the smell? I appreciate any help you have to offer. Thanks! EDIT: I ended up putting the skirt in a bag with coffee grounds as suggested, and it totally got rid of the burnt smell. Now it smells like coffee, not that I mind (*drool*). Thank you for all your help!
