Today, I finally cracked from Cabin Fever. My dad and I shovelled off part of my pond and ran water over to melt a layer of ice. Then, I dug out the skimmer and waterfall. So, the rock surrounding them could begin to heat up and melt the snow and ice. Next, we stuck a small pond heater in the puddle that formed on the top of the ice and layed a solar hottub cover over it. So, now my pond is slowly unthawing. This week it's supposed to be the warmest it's been all winter. I'm hoping the temps will keep rising so I can put my plants back in the pond. Otherwise, I think I may go crazy. Anyone else in the north ready to crack?
