Canadian Income Tax Filing
I just finished doing my taxes, and thought I'd pass this along in case there's anyone who needs the info. A lot of people file on the net now, but if you haven't before, it's really easy and you don't need to buy any software. Canada Revenue's NETFILE page outlines everything you need along with approved software you can use and approved web applications. Many of these also have special offers so check the list. I read an article outlining all of this just last year myself, and started using T1Filer after choosing it from Canada Revenue's website because of their special offer. Their offer this year is that if your income is $25,000 and under, you can do your return free of charge :) There are probably other similar offers around on the list as well.
Also, good news! The Liberals' boost of the basic personal amount and other tax cuts (before this last election ack) showed big time in my return. It's more than double that of last year and I'm on a fixed income.
Anyway, hope that's not old news for everyone, and that it helps somebody out there :)
