I’m starting a job in August that pays about as much as I have in student loans, so I’m looking to cut costs any way I can. I’ve been with Allstate for 9 years, paying over $600 every six months. I love Allstate, I just can’t afford that. With Geico I could pay $300 every six months for the same coverage limits. I pay Allstate monthly. Can I just call them up and cancel? I should know this since I just graduated from law school and all, but am I contractually bound to the six month policy? Regardless, if I went to my Allstate agent and showed them the quotes from various companies (all lower than my current rate), do you think they’d have the ability to lower my premium?
