I am getting ready to get my own car insurance for the very first time. The trouble is, I’m relatively young and (kinda) poor, and don’t know the first thing about insurance other than, well, what I’ve seen on commercials. What advice can you guys give me about this issue, and what companies have you had good or bad experiences with? Can anyone give me a ball park figure of what kind of money should I be expecting to shell out for this? I’m 22, have been driving for 5 years, and don’t have any infractions on my driving record, if that makes any difference. What are some good websites/books/other sources of information about this topic?
Edit: I drive a ’97 Buick LeSabre, and I could deal with just having liability for right now.
