I recently bought a house in which some rooms are carpeted with an off-white/cream color. Unfortunately there are huge red, brown, black, and yellow stains covering every single room. I’ve tried several different carpet stain removers. I’ve tried oxyclean. I’ve tried a home carpet shampooer, and I’ve even rented a carpet shampooer from Home Depot. I tried using straight up bleach which slightly lightens the stain, but also lightens the color of the carpet around the spot.
I’m planning on having company in a few weeks, and I would really like my house to look nice (or at least not gross!) for it. There aren’t hardwood floors underneath, and I don’t think I can afford to have them recarpeted or to install hardwood floors in time. I’ve found remnants, but none that are the right size.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the stains or any ideas on what to do to cover or replace it? I want it to look classy and fit in with the rooms.
