cashing checks, professional wear for the littler ladies

Hey poor_skillers. I'm going on vacation to Daytona Beach next week. My grandparents live there so the food and lodging are free (woohoo!). I recently graduated, and I'm expecting a few relatives to give me checks while I'm there. The problem is that my bank has no locations in Florida, but that will be my vacation spending money. What is the cheapest way to cash a check? Take it to the bank that issued it? Ideas for cheap/free things to do in the area? I intend to spend most the time at the beach but everyone seems to think I should have other plans just in case. Also, a tip for any other recent grads in need of a suit. I was having the WORST time finding a suit. I had tried on pretty close to every suit in two malls with no success. The problem is I'm a pretty small person and most department stores didn't have anything smaller than an 8 or in many cases a 12! Finally I put a $250 ensemble that I wasn't crazy about on hold at Express (I have a job interview coming up, so the suit is an absolutely necessity). As I wondered to myself "where the heck does a skinny chick buy a suit in this town?!" I decided to step in to the Limited. I'm so glad I did!! They were having a suit sale, and they had TONS of size 0, 2, and 4 suits! I got two suits for about $70 each. Considering most the suits I looked at were considerably more than that much just for the jacket, I was pretty excited! I also got 6 shirts to wear under the jackets for between $7-$10 each so for about $200 I got a week's worth of professional outfits. (Of course, now I'm REALLY hoping I get the job so I can pay the credit card bill! :-p)
