cell phones?

cell phones?

Hey guys. ^_^ I have an inquiry. I'm going to college soon, to a small city about an hour away. Right now I have a tracfone that doesn't get great service where I live, but gets perfect service in the city I'm moving to. I like tracfones because there's no contract and I can control my minutes and stuff and only buy them when I need them. But I'd also really love the security of a phone that works -everywhere-. I live in the North Country (Adirondacks of NY) so service is always pretty sketchy, unless you have Unicel or AT&T. So my question is, would it be better in the long run to keep my tracfone and pay over $100 for a 400 min card (that doubles to 800 mins because I have "double minutes for life" on my tracfone) or get the 800 minute a month deal with Unicel for about $40 a month and have the security of a phone I know will work at my college, and here at home. I'm going to be getting a job, and the work study program so managing to pay for it wouldn't be too hard. My second highest interest is having unlimited texts, which I can't do on a tracfone (since it just decucts from my over all minutes.) Most of the time I text versus actually calling someone, unless it's my parents. Thanks guys!
