Hams are currently on sale at a lot of supermarkets. I managed to get one for.99 a pound with a 50% off sticker at Safeway bringing my cost for a 10 pound ham to $5. Even if I lose half of that to bone and trimming, that's still about $1/lb for ham which will probably be much better than the stuff I can buy in the deli or pre-packaged. I plan to dice some for throwing into vegetable soup, slice some for lunch meat and of course a lot will go into the freezer. Anyone else have good uses for ham? I'm guessing the bone would make the dog happy.
