This is my first time posting here, though I've lurked for a very long time -- now I've come to you in my time of need.
My boyfriend and I live in a room in a woman's basement. Recently, the stove and oven stopped working. Since it's not our stove, we aren't the ones to make the call about getting it fixed (not like we could afford to fix it right now anyway, mind you), and we have no idea when our landlady is planning on having it fixed. Now, I find it not too difficult to live cheaply when I can cook things from scratch on the stove or in the oven, but microwavable food is a different story altogether. So, my fellow poverty-stricken people, do you have any suggestions for very cheap (we are especially poor at the moment) food things than can be made in the microwave? Oh, we also have a George Forman grill at our disposal, but the kind of meats that can be made on it (chicken, pork, etc.) are kind of expensive.
Thanks for your help!
