I have truly out poored myself this time.
So I have my checking account for my rent and my bills, that I use solely to transfer money into and write checks out of. Then I have my primary checking account which is the debit card I use on a regular basis. I keep them separated so I can know that the amount for my expenses never goes below what it should because of a stupid debit card purchase I failed to keep track of or something. I was transferring the money into that account the other night for my rent and my con-ed, and all of it was alreay in there (because I had deposited it in there) except $15.00, which I transferred online from the primary account. Well, I guess I never finalized my transfer or something online, but I realized yesterday it was $15.00 short. The problem IS, I thought all my bills were already accounted for, so I went ahead and splurged on some items (like a dress that I’ve already worn, snapples that were on sale, and old bay seasoning after seeing that post on here about the potatoes) only leaving $15.08 in my account. Which would have been fine! Because all I need money for during the week is whatever food I buy while I’m at work, I don’t always bring my lunch cause I can get cheap pizza or bagels or whatever, and to me it’s worth it, BUT since that transfer didn’t go through, I now am left with 8 CENTS until FRIDAY which is PAYDAY. 8 Cents. I don’t think I have ever done this before.
I mean, I’ll be alright. My rent and con-ed are paid and I just bought a new monthly metrocard so all the essentials are taken care of. It’s just, let me reiterate, I have 8 cents in my bank account until Friday.
I am out of meat, except tuna fish, but was hoping someone has some bright ideas for the food that I have on hand…which is not so sparse, it’s just stuff that isn’t the most convenient to bring to work. For instance I have no problem having chocolate chip pancakes for dinner, but I would be legit embarassed if I brought that to work to eat for lunch or something.
So, here’s what I have.
A couple potatos.
2 onions.
2 cans of tomato soup- I’d really love if someone has a creative way to use these other than soup since THE HEAT INDEX IS 98.
one can kidney beans
a bag of rice
old bay!
cinnamon
pancake mix
one bag choc. chips
bag of pretzles
wheat thins
1 can tuna fish
raisin oatmeal
pasta
tomato sauce
garlic
green olives
some eggs that I can use from my roommate, cause he used my eggs.
peanut butttaaa
bread
sugar
So I have a good amount of food, I’ve read posts on here where people do well with much less. It’s just that I don’t know how many things I’d be able to make to bring to work. I work in a professional office where we all sit out in front of each other I don’t wanna be sitting at my desk with a peanut butter sandwhich like a jackass who screwed up an online transfer and now only has 8 cents in her bank account.
This isn’t even that serious, I’m not worried, I’m just trying to avoid having to explain to a coworker why I’m eating something that is clearly not lunch food. I can eat and that’s the most important part, and I get paid Friday. Just looking for creative suggestions if anyone has any.
Here’s the other part. My friends birthday is Wednesday and I said I was going to bake her a cake. Ha ha. This was before I only had 8 cents in my bank account. If I find a ten dollar bill on the ground before Wednesday maybe it can still happen, but if you have any off the wall dessert ideas given my few ingredients, that’d be stupendous. Right now I think I’m just gonna crush pretzles up and dip them in chocolate and make balls out of them, my old roommate did that once and they were bangin.
Alright that’s all :)
