Chilis loosing their heat?
I have three chili plants; two which I beleive to be scotch bonnet and one which I think is a salsa (your standard red mild heat chili). The problem is, non of the chilis seem to have any heat! I've eaten a coupld of the salsa chilis and they've tasted nice but not hot at all, and the scotch bonnets have failed to turn red and taste just like green bell peppers - so much for one of the hottest varieties known! Has anyone come across this problem before? All three plants were in a warm, sunny spot all summer and have just been brought indoors to sit on the sunny windowsil now it's turning colder. TIA! EDIT: I just cut up and ate a red one and noticed there were no seeds at all inside! It was very tasty but again sweet, not hot. I guess this could be the source of the problem?
