This Christmas will be the first Christmas my husband and I spend together and in our own home. I want to start a tradition of some sort for our growing family! I love traditions! Christmas Eve is spent with his grandma and Christmas dinner is split between my parents and his. I was thinking our tradition could be breakfast. The only problem with this is that when I’m not pregnant, I don’t even care for breakfast too much lol but I guess I could suck it up for the sake of tradition once a year :-P
Now I just need help with the menu. Any ideas?
One thing I was thinking of putting on the menu is this ham my grandma used to make. It was small, pretty thick and VERY salty. I can’t think of what it’s called so I don’t know what to look for in the store. My MIL said it’s country ham but when I looked it up, it doesn’t look like that. Does this ham sound familiar to anyone? My mom said it’s hard to find so she’s no help lol
Anyway, to go along with this I was thinking sausage and/or bacon and biscuits and gravy. Basically, I’d be making exactly what my grandma would make every Sunday morning for whoever decided to show up. So…I’ll need a super delicious recipe for gravy as well! Any one have a recipe they just have to use for their biscuits and gravy?
Or…if anyone has any completely different menu ideas that are more “Christmas-like” I would greatly appreciate it! The only part of this that screams Christmas is the ham lol
