Cilantro Question

Is Cilantro a type of parsley? Is Cilantro easy to grow? What I mean by easy is: I’ve always grown Basil by just putting the itty bitty black seeds in the ground and watering. And boom, tons of Basil. I want to try to grow a salsa garden and have never grown Cilantro. I’m not much of a “start seeds indoors” type. I like to start my garden directly outside. I live in southwest Nebraska. Thank you in advance for any replies.
