Company information

I try to shop cheaply but ethically. I use farmers markets where possible, buy things made in Australia etc. Which brings me to my question. Sometimes, I want to boycott certain companies. This can be because of their environmental policies, use of slave labour or their actions in particular situations. However, sometimes smaller brands are bought out by these large multi-national companies, but still market their products under their original name. Is there anywhere that I can go to find out if a company is owned by another? I'm in Australia, so would probably be looking for an Australian-based list. Thanks in advance!
