We received some– frustrating news. Our new landlord’s are planning on selling the house we rent at the end of December. Yeah, not so happy about this. I’ve planted upwards of 60 perennials on the property and always had the intention of taking them with us when we move. So here’s my problem, we live in Ohio. I doubt digging up the perennials during the winter will work. A good number of them are heirlooms and irreplaceable. Do you think we could transplant them into containers, store them in our unheated basement and replant them in the Spring, where ever we may be? Moving earlier, say in the Autumn, isn’t an option for us unfortunately. Any suggestions or links to instructions on what to do would be greatly appreciated!
