When my fiance’s grandmother passed away last year, my future mother-in-law found a packet of Cosmos seeds and gave them to me. She knew we’d dug some borders out and that I was growing things but had no idea how old these seeds were or if they would take.
We also inherited OH’s nan’s greenhouse, so once that was up I put the Cosmos seeds in a pot and left it in there, not sure what to expect. The seeds went *VOOM* and they were soon large enough to be planted out and not get eaten by slugs.
Since they’ve bloomed I’ve been seeing lilac, mauve, purple, orange and yellow.
Yep, those are Lupin seed pods right next to it – I’ve already harvested loads and am waiting for these to be ready!
I love my flower borders :)
