Cuttings

Cuttings

Okay....I'm clueless. How do you take a cutting and make it grow? Do you just cut off a shoot and stick it in soil? One example I'd like to do it my butterfly bush. A neighbor would love to have a cutting and I read you can do that with the butterfly bush. Do I just stick the cutting in a pot of soil and water? Or my African violets...or like mentioned recently, Coleus, or my salvia. (Speak of salvia...mine was just taking off like crazy before the passiflora took over. This fall I want to move part of it because it's hiding some of my other plants. How do I do that? We've only done one side of our front porch garden and I'd like to move some of the salvia to the otherside of the stairs). Please help. I'd like to not have to keep buying plant when I want to plant/move them. And, I'd like to have more african violets.
fungus-type-thing? on MY seed starting attempt? apparently, it’s more common than i think.
