Some of you may recall me asking about saving butternut squash (from the grocery store) seeds. Well, I stuck three of them in the ground just to see what would happen, and they've come up! Exciting! And now for the complaints department. Our sunflowers' leaves are definitely being eaten by ants. I though it would be aphids, because I didn't think we had leaf-eating ants here, but nope, no aphids, definitely ants. I've tried to deter them with garlic-cayenne-soap spray but they just keep coming back. Argh! I know many, many people have posted about this problem before, sorry, but just thought I might as well do it again. My room mate suggests finding their nest and getting rid of it, which might be difficult. Anyone else?
