Dentists on the cheap€ in San Diego/San Pedro?

I'm working on a sailing boat heading down the west coast, volunteering for the summer, but in return a place to sleep and food are included. It sounds commune-esque and childish, but I've done the traditional sailing for little money for a couple years, and sometimes it does pay off financially. Problem is, the past six months I've felt an ache in my lower right jaw, but thinking it was a cavity, ignored it for lack of funds until I could afford it. Until this week, when it appeared as a wisdom tooth finally pushing its way through. Great, when my childhood dentist told me at my last visit two years ago (at age 20) that all my wisdom teeth were in and they wouldn't have to pull anything like they'd promised all these years. Anyhow, I am down to $100 until later this fall when I start living in San Diego with a friend and have a real job ($12/hour with no health benefits),and maybe another $100 or two from my paycheck to pacheck parents. The pain is getting too bad for aspirin or Tylenol, and so bad I almost passed out today. Where do I go to have my tooth removed? I'm the biggest pussy about my teeth and pain, so I'd prefer not to use the old pliers and alcohol method (haha joke). The boat will be in San Pedro (Los Angeles) this week, and then in San Diego, so locals, any help? Or places to go, funds I haven't tapped into? I've heard rumors of mariners' hospitals before, but nothing more than stories.
