Pictures below the cut that beg your suggestions!
So, hubby-darling and I recently relocated to beautiful North Carolina. We traded our crazy gigantic rental home in Arizona for a squeezy little townhouse, which, by the way, I actually prefer. It’s downright charming, and I have every room so sweetly decorated that a part of me thinks I could stay in this shoebox forever… cept for one.
The dining room.
Its problems are many, from the giant fuse box panel to the ugly old light fixture it’d be a waste of money to change (renting, after all). It’s connected to the living room by one GIANT, awkward wall. I’ve done what I can to make it look cohesive, as, unfortunately, decorative fabric can’t be hung to make a door (too narrow). I’m considering a valance over the entrance.
It’s also lumped into the kitchen, so it looks a bit… ‘added on,’ and the table can’t be moved in either direction, because it would block either the entrance to the kitchen or the exit of the back door.
Considering a new dining room table, a black round pedestal with slightly lower chairs.
Until I can swing that, does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this not look so… unloved and creepy?
Don’t be alarmed by the white spots.
