I don't know about anyone else but when the digital transition happened I lost all but one channel. (YES, I got the converter box!) I was told that I needed a new roof-top antenna or cable to get my channels back, but just wasn't that interested in doing that, so I never did.
Last week I found out that the FCC was sending engineers to various stations where people had lost their signal. In some cases they changed the frequency and in some they allowed them to power up their transmitter. This means that if you lost channels in the digital transition you may be able to get them again.
If you lost channels, rescan one more time.
I did this went from 1 channel to 8. It's a very definite improvement and will save me having to get cable or a roof-top antenna.
Hope that helps someone out there. :)
