I have passionflower (maypops) in my yard and flower-garden. My dad saw them and said "Kill them quick, before they take over!" I told him I let the ones in the flower-garden stay on purpose. They’re pretty, they don’t need my care, and they’re the host plant for Gulf Fritillary butterfly larvae. Plus, you know, there’s the odd chance an actual passionfruit might make it to ripeness (ha!)
I’ve also let all the sunflowers that sprouted from birds dropping seeds out of my feeders to grow right where they’ve landed. :D
