Dwarf curry plant!

Dwarf curry plant!

Oooh, I went to Franks today to see if they had a clay strawberry pot (nope, but Lowe’s did, for 14 bucks!). I’m putting together an herb garden and then adding lucky bamboo and river rocks on top. In the fall when I bring it in, I may add a fountain to the lucky bamboo.

Anyway, they had, among their herbs, a dwarf curry plant. I’ve never seen one before, but it’s just beautiful and the leaves definitely smell of curry. Yum!

I’ve googled for care tips, but I can’t find what to do to use it in recipes. It says it flowers in late summer. Do I use the leaves? The stalks? Both? Wait for the flowers?

One of the websites I found on herbs also said it repels cats. I’d like to confirm that this is false. My cats have their heads in it now, taking deep whiffs.

Here are the instructions for the strawberry pot herb garden fountain if anyone is interested. Yay for Christopher Lowell!
