Ebates reminds me a little of the Old Internet, the way it was when I was just shortly post-high school and making about $80 a month just putting banners on my monitor while I was browsing the internet. Alas, those days are gone, but Ebates has proven to be real, reliable, and worth noting for other people to use.
You know how you can sign up with certain online stores to refer them and get money when people shop there? Ebates has, basically, signed up with practically every one of these in existance. You go to the store through their website. They give you part of the referral commission back in exchange. It sounds... a little fishy, or at least it did to me, but while there's a bit of time lag, they have so far given me back over $50 for purchases I would have made anyway.
Some of the stores available, that I've made purchases through personally:
Old Navy (plus Gap and Banana Republic, not that we can afford those, right?) (3%)
Since I don't drive, I do a lot of shopping online, and if I'm already going to make a purchase there, getting a little extra back is nice. The array of stores available is mind-boggling. Unfortunately, some of the big ones, like Amazon, don't offer cash back. They are, however, always adding new things. Apparently, iTunes is now on there, with 3% back, though I haven't tried it yet. None of the percentages are high (the highest are in things like magazine subscriptions), but it does add up over time.
Ebates does have a referral program, but I know that referral links aren't allowed here, and that's not why I'm here anyway, so the link above just goes to the main website. It's just really adding up for me, and I wanted to share.
