entry level/crap jobs?
I'm seriously running out of ideas and patience. The past 3 weeks I've been running around trying to find a job quickly. This has been no easy feat, March and February are not very good times to look for work. Basically, I'm (turning) 21 years old(in 2 weeks), I've only had a semester of college (long story) and I have very little work experience (also a long story)..my last job was 6 months ago. That much is my fault, a lot has been going on lately. My family is in a head spin right now.. my mom has cancer and is having problems paying her bills and now my dad is laid off from work and refusing to help me any longer. Basically, I need to get out of here (I'm living with my dad ATM) by the end of July but I'm having huge problems finding a job. I live in a small area (about 17,000 people)...to tell you more about this, basically there is not a lot here. Just some retail stores/fast food resturants. There is also 4 sit-down resturants, 2 I've already worked at... I cannot pay for my car right now so I cannot get a job in the nearby city.(I have no friends or family who will be able to drive me there daily/bi-daily, and no one will allow me to crash at their place for 3 days a week.. otherwise I would have a job there already) All this is really getting me down. In high school it was so easy to get interviewed/hired on at a fast food joint and now it's seeming nearly impossible. I only know 5 people in the whole town and none of them have anything to offer me job-wise right now. Do you have any tips or hints for me? I will seriously do ANYTHING as a job. I have began saving (I am not spending any money on myself right now except to eat) and I figured this would be an easy way to get some tips.. thanks guys. PS_ I thought about doing the at-home stuff but my computer is old (it's from 1999 and has no RAM) and I only have dial-up, so anything having to do with a phone is out.
