First Ever Apartment!

First Ever Apartment!

Hi everyone! I just moved in to my first ever apartment in the Prettiest town in Canada (or so the Queen says, lol). It’s a little shabby right now, considering I just moved in on saturday… But I just had to share the layout of the apartment because it’s amazing!

Just a warning… These pictures may end up being totally huge. I’m totally photoshop stupid, or else I would try and make them smaller. Sorry!

This is a map I have hanging of my fair town. I just moved here from a very large city (300,000+ people) to a very tiny little town, so I need help navigating.

Moving on to actual pictures of the apartment… This is what you see when you walk through the door. Typical entryway.

To the left! Antique little table that holds my keys and etc.

Beyond that, my bathroom is right off the entryway. It’s nothing special, but it is the only fully decorated room so far, so I need to show it off, lol.

My sink with my cute little ghost-y nightlight.

Back into the entryway… The apartment becomes something extraordinary! 12-foot high ceilings and three large windows (though you can only see one in this photo). The walls are really bare, because I need a drill to hang photos and the like.

Here’s a better view of the very tall ceilings…

This is my couch/extra bed. Beyond that is my bookshelf with books and DVD’s.

To the right of my living/guest room, is the kitchen! My fabulous microwave stand with new microwave that is too small to make popcorn :(.

And now the kitchen itself. Pretty tiny and apartment typical.

Beyond the kitchen… We head towards my bedroom. We also get a look at the third and last window.
First Ever Apartment!

So, to the right. Not a very typical bedroom, as there is no door. But we’ll have more on that later. Also, pardon the too small duvet on my huge bed. It was from my old bed, which was a twin (the bed in the living room) and I figured I’d only ever get a double bed. I upgraded to a queen and all of a sudden, my duvet was too small to look nice. Warm though :)
First Ever Apartment!

There’s still lots of random bedroom stuff to unpack, so I’ll just show you all the closet space and then we’ll move on to the view!
First Ever Apartment!

Well, before the view I’ll show you my spectacular archway. This is what I have in lieu of a door.
First Ever Apartment!

As beautiful as the archway is, it doesn’t quite make up for the fact that I have a streetlight shining right into the window across from my bed. Of course my landlord won’t let me put up blinds, so I bought a sleep mask instead. Anywho, here is the view from my bedroom window. The streetlight isn’t visible. Also not visible is the clock tower in the center of the square (it’s technically an octagon) that rings every fifteen minutes from 8am-midnight.
First Ever Apartment!

Anyways, regardless of the bright streetlights and the loud clock, I love my apartment and kind of want to live here forever. I believe this is a heritage building (it’s definitely a heritage district) and the walls are super thick. It’s not too expensive (considering the apartment market in my hometown) and the view + the people in the town make it all worthwhile. :)

Thanks for looking!

ps. Any decorating suggestions any of you have would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I’m going to go crazy with these plain, off-white walls.
