I am trying a winter garden in zone 9 for the first time. I started a couple of weeks ago, which is too late, but we’re having a late fall/winter, so I hope they will make it. The mesclun lettuce mix, beets, and one of my lettuce varieties are all thriving, so I will start thinning them out soon. It’s so exciting. I just hope they grow big enough to make it through our frosts that start in late November or so.
