Floppy Gardenia, rooting powder, Orchid mix..
Hello group! :) Having some slight problems with my (INDOOR/POTTED!) Gardenia Jasminoides. -.- She gets sprayed on the leaves every day, after the sun has stopped shining on her. Her soil doesn't dry out completely, but she isn't watered every day either. She gets around 4 hours of pretty bright spring sun. The humidity in here is usually around 50 %, sometimes up to 70% and sometimes down to 42%. The temperature doesn't drop very much during the night, which I hear is a bad thing.. I'm not sure, but I suspect it's around 23-24 C / 73,4-75,2 F during the night (yes, I'm using a converter page :P) and it gets up to 25-27 C / 77-80 F during the day. At 27 degrees we're dying in here and open the window, so it doesn't stay that high for too long.... :P Still, she's got floppy leaves and it looks like she's losing buds as well. :( I gave her a nutrient stick a week ago in case she was in need of that. Anyone have any clue what might be causing her this upset? She's one of these babies! http://www.botanical-online.com/florgardeniacatala.htm And.... is there any scandinavian type person that would be able to tell me what sort of a place would carry rooting powder (and/or sulfur powder to stop root rot of cuttings)? I'm in Finland. :) I'm not sure if there's anything home-made I can use. I'm also about to get some stuff from outside to get a better orchid mix. The one I got from the store is a bit too thick. Pondering getting some pine cones, bark bits, possibly random tree bits... If there's anything I *shouldn't* (or absolutely should) be picking, I'd very much appreciate the tip!
